How tech companies drop products they don’t want to sell anymore

I hopped on an antique tractor to make this video about how tech companies gradually phase out products they don’t want to sell anymore, even if they’ve sold a lot of them.  It’s a simple recipe:

  1. Create a replacement product, or products
  2. Market the replacement(s) aggressively
  3. Pay sales people a lot more to sell the replacement(s) than the product they want to phase out.
